Getting There

Bus
From Drogheda town center, head to the Drogheda Bus Station located on the corner of the Fair Green and the Dublin Road (R132). You can catch a bus to Dublin. Look for buses heading to Dublin City Centre, such as Bus Éireann routes. The journey will take approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour. Once you arrive at the Busáras (Dublin Bus Station), walk to the nearest bus stop for the 46A or 145 bus towards Merrion Square. Get off at Merrion Square and the National Gallery of Ireland will be right in front of you.

Train
From Drogheda Train Station, take a train to Dublin Connolly Station. The trip takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Connolly Station, exit and walk to the nearest bus stop for the 46A or 145 bus, or you can take a short 20-minute walk towards Merrion Square. Follow the signs to O'Connell Street, then head south on O'Connell Street until you reach Merrion Square. The National Gallery of Ireland will be located there.

Walking
If you prefer to walk, start at Drogheda's Main Street and head southeast towards the River Boyne. Cross the bridge and continue walking towards the R132 road. Follow this road until you reach the train station. From there, take the train to Dublin Connolly Station as described above. After you arrive in Dublin, you can either take a bus as mentioned or enjoy a scenic walk to Merrion Square.
