Public Transport
From Dublin city center, head to the nearest Luas tram stop, 'Abbey Street.' Take the Luas Red Line towards 'Tallaght.' After three stops, get off at 'Heuston.' From Heuston, exit the station and head to the bus stop located just outside the station. Take bus number 25, 26 or 37 that will take you directly to Phoenix Park. Get off at the 'Phoenix Park' stop. From there, walk towards the Papal Cross, which is located a short 15-minute walk inside the park. Follow signs to the Papal Cross and enjoy the scenic walk.
Walking
If you are within a reasonable distance in Dublin city center, you can walk to Papal Cross. Start at O'Connell Street and head west towards Parnell Square. Continue down Parnell Square until you reach the 'Royal Canal.' Follow the canal path west until you reach 'Phoenix Park.' Once inside the park, follow the walking paths towards the Papal Cross. It’s a lovely walk and should take around 45 minutes depending on your pace.
Bike Rental
For a more active approach, consider renting a bike from one of Dublin's many bike rental stations. You can find stations around the city center, such as on O'Connell Street. Once you have a bike, head west towards Phoenix Park. The park is bike-friendly with many cycling paths. Follow the designated bike paths towards the Papal Cross, which is located centrally in the park. The bike ride should take about 20-25 minutes.
