    If you're in the city center, start at O'Connell Street, which is a major thoroughfare. Head west towards Parnell Square and continue straight onto Parnell Street. Follow it until you reach the junction with Moore Street, then turn left onto Moore Street and continue until you hit the Liffey River. Cross the river via the Millennium Bridge. Once across, turn right onto the Quays and walk along until you reach the intersection with Usher's Quay. Continue straight onto Merchant's Quay and then turn left onto Thomas Street. St James' Church will be on your left as you approach the intersection with James' Street. The address is Saint James, Dublin 8, D08 X799.

    From O'Connell Street, locate the bus stop for the 123 bus towards 'Ballyfermot'. Board the bus and stay on for approximately 10 stops. Get off at 'James Street' stop. Once you exit the bus, walk back a short distance towards the junction with Thomas Street. St James' Church will be on your right at the corner of Thomas Street and James' Street.

    Make your way to the nearest Luas stop, either 'Abbey Street' or 'Jervis'. Take the Luas Red Line towards 'Tallaght'. Disembark at the 'Smithfield' stop. From there, exit the station and walk west along the Smithfield Square. Continue onto Church Street and then turn left onto the North Circular Road. Walk south until you reach the junction with James' Street. St James' Church will be directly ahead on your left.
