Walking

From Dublin Castle, head southeast on Castle Street towards the intersection with Dame Street. Turn left onto Dame Street and continue straight until you reach the traffic lights at the intersection with Clanbrassil Street. Cross the road at the lights to continue straight onto Clanbrassil Street. As you walk, keep an eye out for the signs pointing towards St Patrick's Cathedral. Continue walking until you reach Patrick's Close on your right. The cathedral will be a short walk down Patrick's Close.

If you're starting from Trinity College, exit the campus and head southwest on College Green towards Westmoreland Street. Turn right onto Westmoreland Street and continue walking until you reach the junction with Dame Street. Turn left onto Dame Street and follow it until you reach Clanbrassil Street. Cross at the lights and continue onto Clanbrassil Street until you find Patrick's Close on your right. Walk down Patrick's Close to arrive at St Patrick's Cathedral.
Public Transport (Bus)

From O'Connell Street, you can catch the number 13 or 16 bus towards Rathfarnham. Get off at the stop named 'Clanbrassil Street, St. Patrick's Cathedral'. From there, it's a short walk to the entrance of St Patrick's Cathedral. Head south on Clanbrassil Street, and take a right onto Patrick's Close. You'll see the cathedral ahead.
