The Oscar Wilde Monument: A Tribute to Literary Genius

Getting There

• Walking

  If you're starting from Dublin City Centre, head south on O'Connell Street towards the River Liffey. Cross the river using the O'Connell Bridge. Continue straight onto D'Olier Street and follow it until you reach the junction with Fleet Street. Turn right onto Fleet Street and continue until you reach the end where you'll find the Temple Bar area. From there, head south to Dame Street. Follow Dame Street until you get to the junction with George's Street. Continue straight to St. Stephen's Green. Once at the park, exit at the southern end and walk towards Merrion Square. The Oscar Wilde Monument is located in the northwest corner of Merrion Square Park, marked by a colorful sculpture of Oscar Wilde himself.

• Bus

  From Dublin City Centre, you can take the Dublin Bus routes 11, 25, or 44. Board the bus at a stop on O'Connell Street and set your destination to Merrion Square. The bus will take you directly to Merrion Square, where you can disembark. Once you get off, walk into Merrion Square Park; the Oscar Wilde Monument is located in the northwest corner of the park.

• Tram (LUAS)

  Take the LUAS green line from any stop in the city center towards Broombridge. Disembark at the St. Stephen's Green stop. From there, exit the tram station and walk north towards Merrion Square. Enter the park, and the Oscar Wilde Monument can be found in the northwest corner of Merrion Square.
