From the center of Ennis, start at the Ennis Cathedral. Head northwest on the Abbey Street towards the River Fergus. Cross over the bridge and continue straight onto the R469 road. Follow this road for approximately 5 kilometers. You will see signs for Doolin and Doonnagore Castle. As you approach Doolin, keep an eye out for Doonnagore Castle on your left. The castle is situated on a hill and is visible from the road. The total walking distance is about 5 kilometers, and it should take around 1 hour.

From Ennis, go to the bus station located on Station Road. Take the Bus Eireann route towards Doolin. The bus ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Ask the driver to let you know when you reach the stop for Doonnagore Castle. Once you get off the bus, the castle will be a short 10-minute walk from the bus stop. Just follow the road signs towards Doonnagore Castle.
