If you're starting from the Kilkenny Castle, exit the castle grounds and head towards the main street, The Parade. Walk straight along The Parade until you reach the junction with John's Street. Turn left onto John's Street and continue walking until you reach the roundabout. Take the second exit onto the Castlecomer Road (R695). Continue along this road for approximately 10 minutes. You will pass the Kilkenny College on your left. As you approach the end of Castlecomer Road, look for the entrance to St Canice's Cathedral on Coach Road, which will be on your left.

Starting from the Smithwick's Experience, head south on John Street towards the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto the Castlecomer Road (R695). Walk straight for about 15 minutes. You will pass by the Kilkenny College and continue until you see Coach Road. Turn left onto Coach Road, and you will find St Canice's Cathedral a short walk ahead on your left.
