From Kilkenny Castle, head southeast towards the High Street. Walk along High Street until you reach the junction with Rose Inn Street. Turn left onto Rose Inn Street and continue straight until you find the bus station on your right. Catch the Bus Éireann Route 833 towards Kells, which departs regularly. After approximately 25 minutes, get off at the 'Kells Priory' stop. From the bus stop, walk into Priory Grove, and follow the signs to the priory entrance.

Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Kilkenny city center. Head out of Kilkenny on the R693 road towards Kells, which is approximately 7 km away. Follow the signs for Kells Priory along the route. Once you reach Kells, look for Priory Grove on your right and follow the signs directing you to the priory. Walk to Kilkenny bus station located on the Parliament Street. Take the Bus Éireann Route 833 towards Kells. The trip takes about 25 minutes. Disembark at the 'Kells Priory' stop, which is the closest stop to the site. From there, walk along Priory Grove to reach Kells Priory.
