    If you are driving, start from Killarney town center and head southwest on the N71 road. Follow the signs for the Ring of Kerry. After approximately 8 km, turn left onto the R563 toward Kate Kearney's Cottage. Continue for about 3 km until you arrive at the entrance to the Killarney National Park. Park your car at one of the designated parking areas near the park entrance. From there, follow the marked walking trails toward Dunloe Upper. Auger Lake is approximately a 30-minute hike from the parking area, with stunning views along the way.

    To reach Auger Lake using public transportation, take a bus from Killarney town to the nearby village of Beaufort. You can use the Bus Éireann service that operates between Killarney and Tralee, which stops in Beaufort.
