Getting There

• Walking

  From Killarney town center, head southwest on Main Street toward Lewis Road. Walk for about 10 minutes until you reach the junction with Muckross Road. Turn left onto Muckross Road and continue walking for approximately 1.5 kilometers. You will pass by the Killarney National Park entrance on your left. Once you reach the entrance to the park, follow the signs for Tomies Wood. The entrance to Tomies Wood is a short walk from the main road, so keep an eye out for the trail signs.

• Public Bus

  From Killarney town center, make your way to the Killarney Bus Station located on Park Road. Take the bus route that heads towards Muckross or Kenmare. Notify the driver that you wish to get off at the stop nearest to Tomies Wood. The bus journey will take around 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you disembark, follow the walking path signs towards Tomies Wood, which should be accessible within a few minutes from the bus stop.

• Bicycle

  If you have access to a bicycle, rent one from a local shop in Killarney. Start at the town center and cycle towards Muckross Road. Follow the same route as the walking directions, cycling for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the entrance to Killarney National Park. Once you reach the park entrance, look for the signs leading to Tomies Wood. The bike ride should take around 10-15 minutes, and you can lock your bike at designated bike racks near the entrance.
