    Start your journey from the centre of Kinsale. Head towards the harbor and follow the main road, Pier Road, that runs along the waterfront. Continue along this road until you reach the junction with the R600 road. Turn left onto the R600, which is also known as the Kinsale to Summercove road. Follow this road for about 1 kilometer. You will pass by scenic views of the harbor and surrounding areas. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to Charles Fort. As you approach Summercove, you will see the entrance to Charles Fort on your left. The fort is a short walk from the parking area.

    If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle in Kinsale. Begin your ride by heading down to Pier Road, then follow the same path as the walking option. Cyclists can enjoy the ride along the R600 road with dedicated bike lanes in certain areas. Once you reach Summercove, the entrance to Charles Fort will be on your left after approximately 1 kilometer of cycling. Remember to lock your bike at the fort's designated areas upon arrival.
