Getting there

Car

If you're driving from the main attractions in Mizen Head, start on the N71 road, heading south. Follow the signs towards Goleen and continue on this road for about 7 kilometers until you reach the village of Goleen. In Goleen, take a left onto the R591 road. Continue on the R591 for approximately 5 kilometers, and then turn left at the sign for Knockaphuca. Follow the road for about 2 kilometers, and you'll arrive at Gortdubh Pier, located at G7G9+3W, Knockaphuca, Co. Cork. There are no fees for parking at the pier.

Public Transportation

If you're using public transport, first take a bus from Bantry to Goleen. Buses typically run several times a day, but check local schedules for exact times. Once you arrive in Goleen, you can either walk or take a taxi to Gortdubh Pier. Walking from Goleen to Gortdubh Pier will take about 1 hour, as it's roughly 5 kilometers away. Alternatively, a taxi ride will cost approximately €10-€15, depending on the service. Make sure to inform the driver of your destination.
