    From the Salthill Promenade, head west towards the Claddagh area. Follow the coastal path along the beach until you reach the ferry terminal at Rossaveal. Once there, buy a ticket for the ferry to Inis Meain. The ferry ride takes about 45 minutes. Upon arrival at Inis Meain, you will need to take a local bike or walk to reach the village of Killeany. Dún Dúchathair (Black Fort) is located on the western side of the island, about 3 kilometers from the village.
