Walking
If you are in the heart of Salthill, start by heading towards the Promenade. Walk along the Promenade facing the sea. Keep walking until you reach the end of the Promenade, where you'll see the entrance to the main road. Cross over to the other side of the road towards the beach. From there, you will see the sign for the Claddagh area. Continue on this path until you reach the junction. At the junction, turn left onto the main road and continue straight. You will eventually see signs pointing towards Galway Cathedral as you approach the city center. The cathedral will be on your right after a short walk.

Public Transport
From Salthill, head to the nearest bus stop on the main road. Look for Bus 404 or 405, which are heading towards Galway city center. Once on the bus, stay on until you reach the stop named 'Eyre Square.' After getting off, walk towards the left side of the square, following the signs for the Cathedral. You will need to walk approximately 15 minutes. Continue straight down the street until you reach the Gaol Road, and the Galway Cathedral will be on your right.
