Getting There

  • Walking

    Begin your journey at the Salthill Promenade, a lovely coastal walk. Head east along the promenade, enjoying the sea views. Continue walking until you reach the end of the promenade, where you will see the Claddagh area. From here, you will take a left onto the Quay Street, which leads you through the heart of Galway city. Follow Quay Street until you reach the river, which flows into the Atlantic Ocean. Cross over the Salmon Weir bridge and continue straight on until you reach the N67 road. Turn right onto the N67 and follow the signs toward Kinvara. The harbour is approximately 20-25 minutes from Galway city on foot.

    From Salthill, walk to the nearest bus stop, which is located on the Promenade. Catch the Bus Eireann route number 51 towards Limerick. After approximately 30 minutes, get off at the Kinvara stop. From the bus station in Kinvara, the harbour is a short 10-minute walk. Head towards the coast, following the signs for the harbour.
