Public Bus
From Tralee, head to the main bus station located at the corner of Edward Street and Station Road. Take the bus route that goes towards Kilrush. Make sure to check the schedule for the next bus heading to Kilbaha or Kilrush, as not all buses may go directly to Kilbaha. Once you arrive at Kilbaha, disembark at the nearest bus stop and walk towards the coast. Follow the signs to Loop Head Lighthouse, which is approximately a 30-minute walk from the bus stop along the coastal path.
Bicycle Rental
If you prefer to cycle, you can rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Tralee. Once you have your bike, head towards the N69 road, which leads to Kilbaha. The ride will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace. Follow the signs for Loop Head Lighthouse as you approach Kilbaha. There will be a few turns along the way, so ensure to keep an eye on your map or GPS for directions.
Walking
For those feeling adventurous and fit, you can walk to Loop Head Lighthouse. Start from Tralee town center and head south towards the N69 road. The total distance is about 25 kilometers, which may take approximately 5 to 6 hours. As you walk, you will pass through scenic countryside and small villages. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry water and snacks. Follow signposts for Kilbaha and then for Loop Head Lighthouse upon approaching the coastal area.
