Getting There

  • Bus

    Start at Waterford City Bus Station located on Lombard Street. From there, take Bus No. 360 towards Bunmahon. The journey will take approximately 40 minutes. Once you arrive at the Bunmahon stop, disembark and head south on Main Street. Continue straight until you reach the crossroads, then turn left onto Ballynasissala Road. Follow this road for about 1.5 kilometers until you see signs for the Copper Coast UNESCO Global Geopark, which will be on your right.

  • Walking

    If you're near the Waterford City Centre, you can walk to the Copper Coast UNESCO Global Geopark. Start at the top of the Quay, head towards the River Suir, and follow the path leading to the bridge. Cross the bridge, and continue along the scenic coastal path towards Bunmahon. This walk is approximately 10 kilometers and offers beautiful views of the coastline. Be sure to follow the signs leading to the Geopark once you get closer.

  • Bicycle

    For those who prefer cycling, rent a bicycle at one of the local rental shops in Waterford City. Begin your journey from the city center and follow the Waterford Greenway, a scenic cycling route that takes you along the coast. Continue on the Greenway until you reach the junction for Bunmahon. Follow the signs for the Copper Coast UNESCO Global Geopark, which will be about 5 kilometers from the junction. The entire trip will take approximately 30-40 minutes.
