If you're starting from the Waterford City Centre, head towards the River Suir. Walk along the Quay until you reach the bridge. Cross the bridge and continue straight until you reach the roundabout. Take the first exit onto the R695 road. Follow this road until you reach the outskirts of Kilkenny. Continue walking straight until you reach the city centre. Once you get to Kilkenny, follow the signs towards Parliament Street, which is located near the Kilkenny Castle. Rothe House & Garden is located at 16 Parliament St, easily identifiable with its distinctive architecture.

From Waterford City, you can take a bus to Kilkenny. Head to the Waterford Bus Station located at 3-4 The Quay. Look for the bus service that goes to Kilkenny. The journey takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at Kilkenny Bus Station, exit the station and walk straight along the route until you reach the first major intersection. Turn left onto Parliament Street.
