Getting There

  • Walking

    Start from the center of Westport at the Octagon. Head south on Bridge Street and continue straight until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto the N59. Continue walking along the N59 for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you reach the entrance of Ashford Castle Road on your left. Turn onto Ashford Castle Road and walk for about 1 kilometer until you arrive at Ashford Castle, which will be on your right.

  • Public Bus

    From Westport, walk to the Westport Bus Station located on the Station Road. Take the Bus Éireann route 440 towards Ballinrobe and ask the driver to let you off at the stop for Cong, which is approximately a 15-minute ride. Once you arrive in Cong, it is a short 10-minute walk to Ashford Castle. Head west on the Main Street, turn left onto Ashford Castle Drive, and follow the road until you reach Ashford Castle.

  • Bicycle Rental

    Rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Westport, such as 'Westport Bike Hire' located near the Octagon. Head south towards the N59, and follow the same route as walking, cycling along the N59 for about 1.5 kilometers.
