Walking
From the center of Westport, head east on the Main Street (N5). Continue walking straight until you reach the junction with the R335 road. Turn left onto the R335, which will lead you towards the village of Murrisk. This scenic route will take you along the coast with beautiful views of Clew Bay. After approximately 5 kilometers, you will arrive at Murrisk. As you reach the village, look for signs indicating the direction to Croagh Patrick. The trailhead is located at the base of the mountain in Murrisk.
Public Transport
From Westport town center, walk to the Westport Bus Station located on Station Road. Look for a bus heading towards Murrisk or any bus that stops at the base of Croagh Patrick. The journey should take about 15-20 minutes. Once you arrive at Murrisk, follow the signs to the Croagh Patrick trailhead, which is a short walk from the bus stop.
Cycling
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local bike rental shops in Westport. Start at the town center and head east on the Main Street (N5) towards the R335 road. Turn left onto the R335 and follow this road for approximately 5 kilometers. You will enjoy a scenic ride along the coast until you reach Murrisk. Look for signs to the Croagh Patrick trailhead as you approach the village.
