Getting there

Car

If you're driving, head towards the Wicklow Mountains from Dublin via the N81. Once you reach the town of Tallaght, follow the signs for the N81 towards Blessington. After approximately 15 km, turn left onto the R759. Continue on the R759 until you reach the turnoff for Tiknock, where you'll see signage for Fairy Castle. Park at the designated parking area near the trailhead. The hike to Fairy Castle is about 1.5 km, taking approximately 30 minutes to an hour depending on your pace.

Public Transportation

To reach Fairy Castle using public transport, first take a Dublin Bus (Route 65) from Dublin city center to Tallaght. From Tallaght, you can catch a local bus to Blessington (Route 65B). Once in Blessington, you may need to arrange a taxi to Tiknock, as public transport options are limited. The taxi ride from Blessington to Tiknock will take around 15 minutes. After arriving at Tiknock, the hike to Fairy Castle is approximately 1.5 km. Make sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as they may vary.

Walking

If you are already in the Tiknock area, you can walk to Fairy Castle directly from the nearby parking area. Follow the marked trails leading up to the peak.
