Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting your journey from the Douglas waterfront, head towards the promenade and walk along the coast in the direction of the Isle of Man Sea Terminal. Continue walking past the terminal and follow the road as it curves to the left. You should be able to see the tower in the distance as you approach the area of Castletown. Keep walking straight until you reach the junction with the A5 road. Turn right onto the A5, and continue walking until you reach the sign for The Herring Tower.

  • Public Transport - Bus

    From Douglas Bus Station, take bus number 1 or 2 towards Castletown. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the Castletown stop. Once you’ve disembarked, walk towards the coast and follow the signs to The Herring Tower. It is a short 10-minute walk along the coastal path.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Douglas. Start from the Douglas promenade and head south along the coast towards Castletown. The cycle path is well-marked and follows the coastline. After cycling approximately 6 miles, you will arrive at The Herring Tower. Make sure to lock your bicycle at the designated area near the tower.
