Getting There

  • Walking

    Start from the centre of Kirk Michael, near the village shop. Head south on the A3 road towards the coast. Continue walking for about 1 mile until you reach the junction with the A26 road. Turn right onto the A26 road and walk for another 0.5 miles. As you approach the village of Ballasalla, look for signs directing you to Rushen Abbey. The abbey is located on Mill Road, which will be on your left. Follow Mill Road for about 0.2 miles until you reach the entrance of Rushen Abbey.

  • Bus

    From Kirk Michael, head to the nearest bus stop located near the village shop. Take the bus route number 5 or 6 towards Douglas. After approximately 20 minutes, get off at the Ballasalla stop. From there, walk along Mill Road for about 0.4 miles towards Rushen Abbey, which will be on your right.

  • Cycling

    If you have a bicycle, start from the centre of Kirk Michael. Head south on the A3 road, cycling for about 1 mile. At the junction with A26, turn right. Continue cycling for about 0.5 miles, and as you approach Ballasalla, keep an eye out for Mill Road on your left. Turn onto Mill Road and cycle for approximately 0.2 miles until you arrive at Rushen Abbey.
