Getting There

Walking
Starting from the Onchan village center, head north on Main Road (A2). Walk towards the junction with Royal Avenue. Continue straight, following the road as it curves to the left. After approximately 1.5 kilometers, you will reach the junction with the A3 road. Cross to the other side of the A3 and follow the sign for Maughold. Continue walking along the A3 for about 2 kilometers. You will see a sign for Ballafayle Cairn on your left. Follow the footpath that leads up to the site, which is about 500 meters from the road.

Bus
From Onchan, take the bus service 1 or 2 towards Ramsey. Board the bus at the stop near the Onchan village center. Remain on the bus for approximately 20 minutes until you reach the stop at Maughold Church. From there, head east on the road towards Ballafayle Cairn. Follow the road for around 1 kilometer, and you will find the entrance to the cairn on your left. Follow the footpath up to the site.

Cycling
If you are renting a bicycle in Onchan, start at the Onchan village center and head north on Main Road (A2). Follow the same route as for walking, but cycling will allow you to reach the junction with the A3 road faster. Continue on A3 towards Maughold, cycling for about 2 kilometers until you see the sign for Ballafayle Cairn. There is a designated cycling path that leads up to the site, approximately 500 meters from the road.
