Getting There

  • Walking

    Starting from the center of Port St Mary, head north on The Promenade towards the roundabout. Continue straight through the roundabout, keeping the sea on your left. Follow the A6 road, which will take you towards the village of Port Erin. After about 1 mile, you will reach another roundabout. Take the second exit onto the A7 road towards Castletown. As you walk along the A7, enjoy the picturesque views of the coastline. After approximately 1 mile, you will come to a fork; take the left onto the A16 road, which leads directly to the Point of Ayre Lighthouse. Continue along the A16 for about 2 miles, and you will see the lighthouse ahead. Make sure to walk safely along the road, as there may not be a dedicated pedestrian path in some sections.

    From Port St Mary, walk to the nearest bus stop. Catch the bus heading towards Castletown. Once you arrive in Castletown, transfer to a bus heading towards Ramsey. Inform the driver that you wish to get off at the Point of Ayre stop, which is the nearest stop to the lighthouse. The bus journey will take around 30-40 minutes. After disembarking, follow the signs towards the lighthouse, which will be a short walk from the bus stop.
