Walking
From your accommodation in Ein Gedi, head north towards the Ein Gedi Nature Reserve entrance. Once you reach the entrance, follow the signs pointing towards Route 90. After about 10 minutes of walking, you will reach the bus stop for the Egged bus service. Take bus number 486 towards Jerusalem. The journey will take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, during which you'll enjoy scenic views of the Judean Desert. After arriving at the Jerusalem Central Bus Station, exit the station and walk towards the light rail station. Take the light rail towards Mount Herzl and get off at the 'City Hall' stop. From there, walk towards the Old City and follow the signs for Zion Gate, which should take about 15 minutes.

To reach Zion Gate from Ein Gedi, first walk to the nearest bus stop located at the Ein Gedi Nature Reserve entrance. Board the Egged bus number 486 to Jerusalem. Once you arrive at the Jerusalem Central Bus Station, you'll need to transfer to the light rail. Follow the signs to the light rail station within the bus station. Take the light rail towards Mount Herzl and disembark at the 'City Hall' stop. From there, navigate towards the Old City by following the signs. You will see Zion Gate in approximately a 15-minute walk from the 'City Hall' stop.
