Walking
If you are in the center of West Jerusalem, head towards Jaffa Street, which is a major thoroughfare. Walk east on Jaffa Street until you reach the intersection with King David Street. Turn left onto King David Street and continue walking until you reach Zion Square. From Zion Square, you can follow the signs toward the Old City. Continue straight past the intersection with Mamilla Mall until you reach the entrance of the Old City walls. You will see the Damascus Gate entrance ahead of you.
Public Bus
Look for bus stops along Jaffa Street. Bus lines 1 and 77 frequently operate between various neighborhoods in West Jerusalem and the Old City. Take either bus and disembark at the 'Damascus Gate' stop. From the bus stop, it’s a short walk to the entrance of the gate. A single bus fare is approximately 6.50 ILS (Israeli New Shekels). Ensure you have the exact fare or a Rav Kav card for easy travel.
Light Rail
Find the nearest light rail station, which you can locate on Jaffa Street. Board the light rail heading towards the 'Hagana' station. Disembark at the 'City Hall' stop. From there, follow the signs towards the Old City. Walk east through the pedestrian street, which will lead you to the Damascus Gate. A single ticket on the light rail costs about 6.50 ILS.
