Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, head towards the city of Jerusalem. From Judea, take Route 1 towards Jerusalem. Once you approach the city, follow signs for the Old City. You can park at the Karta Parking Lot located near the Jaffa Gate (address: David Citadel Hotel, King David St 7, Jerusalem). The parking fee is approximately 40-60 ILS for a day. From the parking lot, walk towards the Jaffa Gate, which is the main entrance to the Old City.

• Public Transportation

  If you prefer public transportation, take a bus from various locations in Judea to Jerusalem's Central Bus Station. Buses such as Egged Line 480 connect towns like Ma'ale Adumim and Bethlehem to the Central Bus Station. The fare is around 20-30 ILS. Once you arrive at the Central Bus Station, take light rail line 1 towards the City Center and get off at the 'City Hall' stop. From there, you can walk towards Jaffa Gate, which is the main entrance to the Old City.

• Walking from Jaffa Gate

  After entering through the Jaffa Gate, you will find yourself in the Old City of Jerusalem. Follow the main road, which is the Via Dolorosa, marked with signs. The Via Dolorosa starts from the Lion's Gate and runs through the Old City. It is approximately a 15-minute walk from Jaffa Gate to the starting point of the Via Dolorosa. Along the way, you can explore shops and historical sites.
