Car
From the Dead Sea area, take Route 1 north towards Jerusalem. Continue on Route 1 for approximately 30 kilometers (about 18.6 miles) until you reach the entrance to Jerusalem. Follow the signs for the city center. Once in the city, look for signs directing you to the Old City. Deir Al-Sultan is located on the roof of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in the Christian Quarter. Park in one of the nearby parking lots and walk to the church.
Public Transportation
To reach Deir Al-Sultan using public transportation, take a bus from your location in the Judean Desert to Jerusalem. Buses run frequently from areas like the Dead Sea and nearby towns. Upon arriving at the central bus station in Jerusalem, transfer to a light rail or bus that goes to the Old City. Get off at the 'City Hall' stop and walk towards the Old City. Enter through the Jaffa Gate, head straight, and follow signs to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Deir Al-Sultan is located on the roof of the church.
