Car
If you are driving, navigate to Via del Castello, 24, 39019 Tirolo BZ. From Bolzano, take the SS38 road towards Merano. Continue on the SS38 for about 30 km, then take the exit for Tirolo. Follow the signs for Tirolo, and once you are in the town, follow the signs for Tyrol Castle. There is limited parking available near the castle, so be sure to arrive early to secure a spot.
Public Transportation
To reach Tyrol Castle via public transportation, start by taking a train from Bolzano to Merano. The journey typically takes about 30 minutes. Upon arriving at Merano train station, transfer to the bus line 2 or 4 towards Tirolo. Get off at the 'Tirolo - Castle' stop, which is the closest stop to the castle. From there, it’s a short walk uphill to Tyrol Castle. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as they may vary.
Walking
If you are already in Tirolo, you can reach Tyrol Castle by walking. From the main square in Tirolo, head towards Via del Castello, which is well-signposted. The walk is approximately 20 minutes and takes you through beautiful scenery as you ascend towards the castle. Wear comfortable shoes, as the path can be steep in places.
