Car
If you're traveling by car, navigate to Bolzano using the A22 Autostrada del Brennero. Once you reach Bolzano, take the exit for Bolzano Sud. Follow the signs for the city center (Centro) and Via Claudia de' Medici. Continue on Via Claudia de' Medici for about 1 km. Maretsch Castle will be on your left at Via Claudia de' Medici, 12. There is usually parking available nearby, but be sure to check local parking regulations.
Public Transportation
For those using public transport, take a train to Bolzano (Bolzano/Bozen) from your current location in Alto Adige. Once in Bolzano, exit the train station and head to the nearby bus stop. Take bus line 10 or 12 towards 'Centro' and get off at the 'Museo di Scienze' stop. From there, it's a short 10-minute walk to Maretsch Castle. Head west on Via della Rena, turn left onto Via Claudia de' Medici, and you will see the castle on your left.
Walking
If you're already in the city of Bolzano and prefer walking, you can reach Maretsch Castle on foot. Start from Piazza Walther, the city's main square, and head southwest on Via dei Portici. Continue straight until you reach Via Claudia de' Medici. Turn right and walk for approximately 15 minutes. The castle will be on your left at Via Claudia de' Medici, 12. This is a pleasant walk through the historic part of the city.
