    From the central square of Amalfi, Piazza del Duomo, head towards the main road, Via Lorenzo d'Amalfi. Walk east along this road for about 10 minutes until you reach the ferry terminal. Here, purchase a ticket for a ferry to Naples. The ferry ride will take approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Once you arrive at the Naples ferry terminal (Molo Beverello), exit the terminal and follow the signs to the metro station 'Università'.

    After reaching the Università metro station, take line 1 (the metro line is marked by a blue color) towards 'Garibaldi'. Alight at the 'Dante' station, which is around 3 stops away. From Dante, follow the signs to the funicular station 'Metropolitana di Napoli - Funicolare di Chiaia' and board the funicular towards 'Mergellina'. The funicular will take you up to the top of the hill. Once you exit the funicular, follow the signs for 'Castel Sant'Elmo' which is about a 10-minute walk from there.
