Walking
If you are in the center of Arezzo, start at Piazza Grande. Head southwest on Via dei Pileati towards Via Giuseppe Mazzini. Continue straight until you reach the end of the street, where it intersects with Via Roma. Turn left onto Via Roma. Follow this street as it curves and becomes Via dei Frati. This road will lead you out of Arezzo. Continue walking for approximately 40 minutes until you reach the outskirts of the city. You will then need to take a bus to reach Siena. Board the bus at the Arezzo bus station, which is near the railway station. The bus to Siena runs frequently, so check the schedule for the next departure time. The journey will take about 1 hour. Once you arrive at the Siena bus station, exit and follow the signs towards the historic center. Walk straight for about 10 minutes along Via della Libertà until you reach Piazza del Duomo, which is the main square in Siena and home to the stunning cathedral.
Public Transport
From Arezzo, head to the Arezzo train station located on Viale F. Crispi. You can take a bus or walk to the station, which is about a 10-minute walk from Piazza Grande. At the train station, purchase a ticket to Siena. The train ride will take around 1 hour and trains run regularly. Once you arrive at the Siena train station, exit the station and head to the bus stop located directly outside. Take the local bus towards the city center. Buses run frequently, and you will need to get off at the stop for Piazza del Duomo. From there, you will be just a short walk to the iconic cathedral and the surrounding square.
