From the main square in Assisi, Piazza del Comune, head towards Via San Francesco. Walk straight along this road until you reach the Basilica di San Francesco. Continue walking past the basilica and follow the signs for Eremo delle Carceri. The path will start to incline as you approach the hills. Keep an eye out for the signs directing you to the Eremo. After approximately 30-40 minutes of walking, you will reach a fork in the path; take the left fork which leads to Eremo delle Carceri. It is about a 20-minute walk from this point, and you will arrive at the entrance of the Eremo.

From the main bus station in Assisi, take Bus Line 1 towards Eremo delle Carceri. The bus operates regularly, but it is advisable to check the schedule in advance. The bus ride will take around 15-20 minutes. Get off at the 'Eremo delle Carceri' stop. From the bus stop, follow the signs to the entrance, which is just a short walk away.
