If you're starting from the Basilica of San Francesco, exit the basilica and head down the hill towards the main road. Turn left onto Via San Francesco and continue straight. Follow this street until you reach the intersection with Via Portica. Turn right on Via Portica, which will lead you to Piazza del Comune. The piazza is a large open square with beautiful architecture and is directly in front of you.

From the Assisi train station, exit the station and head towards the bus stop located just outside. Take the bus heading to the Piazza del Comune, which should take about 15 minutes. Once you arrive, the piazza will be right in front of you, and you can explore the area on foot.

Starting from the Rocca Maggiore (the fortress), walk down the hill through the old town. Follow the signs towards the Basilica of Santa Chiara. Once at the basilica, continue walking straight on Via Santa Chiara until you reach the junction with Via San Francesco. Turn left onto Via San Francesco and continue until you arrive at Piazza del Comune.
