If you are starting from the Basilica of Santa Chiara, exit the basilica and head south towards the main street (Via Francesco. Turn left and continue straight until you reach the intersection with Viale Umberto I. Turn right onto Viale Umberto I and continue walking straight. Porta Nuova will be on your left after a short distance.
