    Walking

    If you are starting from the Basilica di San Francesco, head northeast on Via Francesco, following the signs towards Piazza del Comune. Once you reach Piazza del Comune, you will see the Palazzo dei Priori. From there, take Via dei Priori and continue straight until you reach the intersection with Via della Repubblica. Turn right onto Via della Repubblica and keep walking until you reach the main road, Via Giotto. Cross the road and continue straight. You will eventually reach the staircase leading up to the Porta Sole. Follow the staircase up, and you will arrive at the observation deck where you can enjoy stunning views.

    If you are near the Assisi train station, exit the station and head towards the bus stop located outside. Take any local bus that heads towards the center of Assisi; they run frequently. Get off at the stop 'Piazza del Comune.' From there, walk towards Via dei Priori, and follow the directions mentioned above to reach Porta Sole.
