Getting There

    Start your journey from the Basilica di San Francesco, which is a well-known landmark in Assisi. Head south on Via San Francesco towards the Piazza del Comune. Once you reach the Piazza del Comune, continue walking straight onto Corso Giuseppe Mazzini. Follow Corso Giuseppe Mazzini as it curves left into Via Portica. Continue along Via Portica until you reach the intersection with Via San Rufino. Turn right onto Via San Rufino and walk until you see the signs for Porta Sole. It should be a short walk from here.

    If you are near the Rocca Maggiore, exit the castle grounds and head down the hill towards the city center. Follow the signs towards Via dell'Asilo, then turn left onto Via San Francesco. Continue on this route until you reach the Piazza del Comune. From there, follow the earlier described route via Corso Giuseppe Mazzini to Porta Sole.

    From the Assisi train station, exit and walk towards the main road, Via Giovanni Paolo II. Turn left and head towards the city center. You will come across the Basilica di Santa Chiara. From there, head towards the Piazza del Comune, then proceed as previously described via Corso Giuseppe Mazzini to reach Porta Sole.
