From the main square of Assisi (Piazza del Comune), head southwest on Via Portica. Continue straight until you reach Via San Francesco. Turn left onto Via San Francesco and walk for about 400 meters until you reach the Basilica of San Francesco. From there, follow the signs towards San Damiano, which is located approximately 1.5 kilometers from the basilica. The path will take you through the beautiful countryside, and you will see signs directing you to San Damiano. It takes about 20-30 minutes to walk there.

If you are near the Basilica di Santa Chiara, start by walking down the hill towards the center of Assisi. Once you reach the intersection at Via San Francesco, turn right and follow the signs towards San Damiano. The walk is about 1.2 kilometers and should take around 15-20 minutes.
