Getting there

Walking

From the center of Assisi, head towards the main road, Via San Francesco. Walk down this road until you reach the intersection with Via Giovanni Paolo II. Turn left onto Via Giovanni Paolo II and continue straight. Follow the signs for the bus station, which is located at the end of this road. Once you reach the bus station, you can catch a bus to Perugia. Make sure to check the bus schedules ahead of time for the most accurate departure times.

Bus

Once you arrive at the Perugia bus station, look for the signs indicating the direction to Piazza IV Novembre. Head towards the exit and take a left onto Viale Roma. Continue walking straight for about 10 minutes until you reach the square. The Fontana Maggiore is located in the center of Piazza IV Novembre. It is a prominent fountain and should be easily noticeable.

Train

If you prefer to take a train, head to the Assisi train station, which is about a 15-minute walk from the town center. From the station, catch a train to Perugia. Upon arrival at the Perugia train station, exit and walk towards the bus station to catch a local bus to Piazza IV Novembre. Alternatively, you can walk directly to the square from the train station, which will take approximately 25 minutes.
