Pasta and Tiramisu class with Mamma in Spoleto
Highlight of our trip
We booked a private cooking class in at an Umbrian farmhouse and it became the best part of the trip. Our hostess Claudia, and her husband Francesco, welcomed us into her real kitchen and patiently walked us through handmade local pasta with sauce, lentils, tiramisu, and bruschetta with two different toppings. We are both experienced cooks but learned details we wouldn't get from cookbooks or cooking shows. Lunch was everything we had cooked, plus local wine and real conversation on a variety of topics despite the slight language barrier. We left with handwritten recipes and memories of a lovely time in a real Italian home.

I had an amazing time with Claudia and learned so much. We used beautiful very local ingredients and she tailored the menu for me as a vegetarian. Claudia is so generous in the way she shares information and providing tastings of different ingredients - it was a great day. I highly recommend this as a very authentic way to experience a Italian food and hospitality in Claudia's home
