Getting There

• Train

  If you are in Bergamo, start by heading to the Bergamo Train Station (Stazione di Bergamo). You can take a bus or walk to the station depending on your location in the city. Once at the station, purchase a ticket to Varenna-Esino. The train ride takes approximately 1 hour. After arriving at Varenna-Esino station, exit the station and follow the signs to the ferry terminal. Take a short walk of about 10 minutes down to the lakefront where you will find the ferry service. Board the ferry to Varenna, which is about a 15-minute ride. Once you arrive in Varenna, walk along the lakeside promenade (Viale Giovanni Polvani) for about 5 minutes to reach Villa Monastero, located at Viale Giovanni Polvani, 4.

• Bus

  From Bergamo, make your way to the Bergamo Bus Station (Autostazione di Bergamo). You can take a local bus or walk there. Once at the bus station, find the bus line heading to Varenna. The journey takes around 1.5 hours. When you arrive in Varenna, disembark at the main bus stop. From there, it’s a short walk of about 10 minutes down to the waterfront area where you'll find Villa Monastero at Viale Giovanni Polvani, 4. Just follow the signs along the lakeside promenade.

• Ferry

  If you are already in Varenna, the best way to get to Villa Monastero is to catch a ferry from nearby towns like Bellagio or Menaggio. The ferry rides are scenic and take about 15-30 minutes depending on the departure point. Once you arrive at Varenna's ferry terminal, exit and walk along Viale Giovanni Polvani for about 5 minutes to reach Villa Monastero at Viale Giovanni Polvani, 4.
