Getting There

Walking
If you are starting from the Bergamo train station, exit the station and head towards Viale Papa Giovanni XXIII. Walk straight until you reach the main square, Piazza della Repubblica. From there, take Via Torquato Tasso, which leads you uphill towards the Città Alta (Upper Town). Continue following the signs for Città Alta, which will eventually lead you to Porta San Giacomo. Once you pass through the gate, follow the walls until you reach Viale delle Mura. Turn left onto Viale delle Mura and walk until you see San Giovanni Casemate at number 7.

Bus
From the Bergamo train station, take bus line 1 or 1A towards Città Alta. The bus will take you to the upper town. Get off at the stop 'Piazza Mercato delle Scarpe'. From there, walk towards the ancient city walls. Follow the signs to Porta San Giacomo, go through the gate, and then follow the walls left until you reach Viale delle Mura. Continue walking along Viale delle Mura until you arrive at San Giovanni Casemate, located at number 7.
