If you are starting from Bologna's central square, Piazza Maggiore, walk south towards Via Rizzoli. Continue straight until you reach Via Ugo Bassi. At this intersection, continue straight and follow Via Indipendenza until you see the sign for Piazza Gioacchino Rossini on your right. From Bologna Centrale railway station, take bus number 32 or 33 towards 'Fossolo'. Get off at the 'Piazza Rossini' stop. The bus ride takes about 15 minutes, and the walk from the bus stop to the basilica is just a few minutes.
