Getting there

Car

If you're traveling by car, head towards Naples from your current location in Campania. Use the A1 motorway if coming from the north or the A3 if coming from the south. Once you reach Naples, follow the signs for 'Centro' or 'Historical Center'. You will want to exit onto Via Marina, then take Via Cristoforo Colombo and follow it until you can turn onto Via Vittorio Emanuele III. Castel Nuovo is located at Via Vittorio Emanuele III, 80133 Napoli NA. Be advised that parking in central Naples can be challenging; look for paid parking areas nearby. Expect to pay around €1.50 to €3.00 per hour depending on the location.

Public Transportation - Train

If you choose to use public transportation, the easiest way is to take a train to Naples Central Station (Stazione di Napoli Centrale). From there, exit the train station and head to the nearby metro station, Garibaldi. Take Line 1 towards Piscinola and get off at the 'Municipio' stop. From Municipio, it is a short 10-minute walk to Castel Nuovo. Head out of the station, turn right onto Via Montecalvario, and then continue straight until you reach Via Vittorio Emanuele III.

Public Transportation - Bus

Alternatively, if you prefer buses, you can take the C63 bus from various locations in Naples that heads towards 'Piazza Municipio'. Board at any bus stop along the route and once you arrive at Piazza Municipio, Castel Nuovo is just a short walk away. Buses usually charge around €1.10 for a single journey, and tickets can be purchased at vending machines or newsstands.

Walking

If you're already in the historical center of Naples, you can easily walk to Castel Nuovo. Many attractions are located nearby, so it's a great way to explore the area. From Piazza del Plebiscito, head towards Via Cesario Console, and then take a left onto Via Vittorio Emanuele III. The castle will be right in front of you. This walk should take about 10-15 minutes.
