Train
From any of the Cinque Terre villages (Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, Riomaggiore), take the train to Santa Margherita Ligure. Trains run frequently, so check the schedule at the station. Once you arrive at Santa Margherita Ligure, exit the train station and look for the bus stop located just outside. Take the bus to Portofino. The bus ride will take approximately 20-30 minutes. Get off at the last stop in Portofino.
Boat
If you prefer a scenic route, you can take a ferry from one of the Cinque Terre villages directly to Portofino. Check the ferry schedule at the local ticket office. The ferry ride offers stunning views of the coastline and takes approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at the Portofino harbor, you can walk towards Via alla Penisola, which is where Castello Brown is located.
Walking
If you are already in Portofino, and you have taken either the bus or the ferry, you can easily walk to Castello Brown. From the harbor, head towards the main square, Piazza Martiri dell'Olivetta. From there, follow the signs for Castello Brown, which is located uphill. The walk will take around 15-20 minutes, and you will enjoy beautiful views along the way. The path is well-marked, so just follow the signs.
