Getting There

Train
If you are starting from Monterosso al Mare, take a train from the Monterosso station towards La Spezia. Disembark at Riomaggiore station. The train journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Riomaggiore station, exit the station and follow the signs that lead to the village center.

Walking
From the Riomaggiore train station, head straight down the road towards the village. After about 5 minutes, you will reach the main street, Via Colombo. Continue walking along Via Colombo until you reach the central square, where you will find a series of shops and cafes. Keep walking straight, and when you reach the Via Pecunia sign, turn left. The Church of San Giovanni Battista is located at Via Pecunia, 47, just a short uphill walk of about 10 minutes from the main square.

Boat
If you are in another village like Manarola or Vernazza, consider taking a boat to Riomaggiore. Once you disembark at the Riomaggiore harbor, follow the path leading into the village. Head towards the main street, Via Colombo, and continue as previously described to reach the church.

Hiking
For the more adventurous, you can hike from Manarola to Riomaggiore. The coastal trail, known as the Via dell'Amore, is a scenic route that takes about 20-30 minutes. Upon reaching Riomaggiore, follow the same walking directions to the church from the main street.
