Getting There

• Walking

  If you are in central Florence, start at the historic Piazza della Signoria. From the square, head south on Via dei Gondi until you reach Via dei Calzaiuoli. Turn left onto Via dei Calzaiuoli and continue straight until you reach Piazza del Duomo. From there, take Via dei Servi and keep walking straight until you reach Viale Michelangelo. Turn right onto Viale Michelangelo and walk for about 15 minutes. You will see signs pointing towards the Osservatorio Astrofisico di Arcetri. Continue walking until you reach Largo Enrico Fermi, where the observatory is located.

• Public Transport (Bus)

  From the central station, Santa Maria Novella, take Bus line 12 towards 'Piazza D'Azeglio'. Get off at the 'Piazza D'Azeglio' stop. From there, walk south along Viale Michelangelo for about 10 minutes. You will come to Largo Enrico Fermi, where the INAF - Osservatorio Astrofisico di Arcetri is located. Be sure to check the bus schedule as buses may not run frequently.

• Taxi or Rideshare

  If you're looking for a more comfortable option, you can take a taxi or use a rideshare app. Simply request a ride to 'Largo Enrico Fermi, 5, Firenze'. The driver will take you directly to the observatory. Depending on traffic, this should take around 10-15 minutes from the city center.
