Walking
If you are starting from the Florence Cathedral (Duomo), exit the cathedral and head south on Via dei Calzaiuoli. Continue straight until you reach Piazza della Signoria. From there, take Via dei Neri, which will lead you to the Arno River. Once at the river, turn left and follow the riverbank until you reach the Ponte Santa Trinita. Cross the bridge and continue straight until you reach the intersection with Via di San Jacopo. Turn right onto Via di San Jacopo, and continue walking until you reach the San Jacopo Gate, located at the end of the street.

Public Transport
To reach San Jacopo Gate from the Santa Maria Novella train station, exit the station and head towards Via della Scala. Take Bus line C2 towards 'Cascine' and get off at the 'Piazza Tasso' stop. From there, walk southwest on Via di San Jacopo; the San Jacopo Gate will be on your left after a short walk.

From the Uffizi Gallery, exit and head towards the Arno River. Walk along the riverbank towards the Ponte Vecchio. Cross the bridge and then turn right onto Via Guicciardini.
