If you are starting from the Florence Cathedral (Duomo), head south on Via dei Calzaiuoli towards Piazza della Signoria. Continue straight for about 10 minutes until you reach the piazza. You will see the large open space with the Palazzo Vecchio and the magnificent statues, including a replica of Michelangelo's David.
