Walking
If you are in the historic center of Florence, start at the famous Ponte Vecchio. Head east across the bridge, and as you reach the other side, turn right onto Via Guicciardini. Follow this street until you reach the intersection with Via dei Bardi. Turn left onto Via dei Bardi, and continue straight until you reach Piazza dei Cavalleggeri, which will be on your left. The square is a lovely spot, often less crowded than other attractions.
Bus
From the central bus station at Santa Maria Novella, take bus line C3 towards 'Ospedale di Santa Maria Nuova'. Get off at the stop named 'Cavalleggeri - Basso'. From there, walk a short distance along Lungarno della Zecca Vecchia, and then turn left onto Via dei Bardi. Continue walking straight until you arrive at Piazza dei Cavalleggeri.
Tram
Take Tram Line T1 from the central station 'Firenze SMN' towards 'Careggi'. Get off at the 'Cascine - Stazione' stop. From there, walk towards Lungarno della Zecca Vecchia, and head east along the riverbank until you reach Ponte Vecchio. Cross the bridge, then turn left on Via Guicciardini, and follow the instructions for walking directions to Piazza dei Cavalleggeri as mentioned earlier.
